Founded and led by Dr. Sookyung Kim, a Columbia-trained endodontist with over 20 years of experience, and Dr. Byung (Scott) K. Choi, a UPENN-trained endodontist, our team is committed to gentle, thoughtful, and highly skilled treatment tailored to your needs.
Dr. Kim is a highly regarded endodontist in New York City, recognized for her
exceptional clinical skill, compassionate care, and dedication to dental education.
Dr. Kim completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Columbia University College of
Dental Medicine, where she also pursued postdoctoral training in General Dentistry and
Endodontics.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Kim provides expert treatment in root canal
therapy, retreatment, and surgical endodontics with a patient-centered approach. In
addition to leading a busy private practice, she currently serves as a volunteer
clinical instructor at Columbia University, mentoring the next generation of dental
specialists. Her interest in evidence-based care has led her to research and publish
several peer-reviewed articles.
Finally, Dr. Kim is deeply committed to community service and global outreach. Since
2010, she has participated in several mission trips to provide dental care to
underserved communities in South Africa and the Dominican Republic.
Dr. Byung “Scott” Choi is a highly skilled and compassionate endodontist committed to
delivering exceptional patient care with a gentle touch and a focus on preserving
natural teeth. A native New Yorker, he attended the Collegiate School and trained as a
classical musician at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division. He went on to earn his
bachelor’s degree in computer science from Brown University.
Dr. Choi received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of
Pennsylvania and completed advanced specialty training in endodontics, along with a
Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD), at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco.
With more than a decade of combined experience in general dentistry and endodontics, Dr.
Choi has treated a broad spectrum of complex cases across New York and New Jersey. He is
a partner endodontist at Harp Endodontics in NYC, and also sees patients in northern New
Jersey.
Dr. Choi has served as a clinical educator at Columbia University College of Dental
Medicine and NYU College of Dentistry, and he has presented his research at national
dental conferences. His commitment to service extends globally, having provided
volunteer dental care in underserved communities in South Africa and Mexico.
Dr. Zeming Zheng brings to our practice an exceptional academic and clinical background.
She graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia, where she was inducted
into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia
University, where she received the Divisional Excellence Award in Endodontics and was
inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society.
Dr. Zheng continued her advanced specialty training in Endodontics at Columbia
University, where she developed expertise in microsurgical and regenerative endodontic
procedures. She is dedicated to providing precise, compassionate, and evidence-based
care tailored to each patient’s needs.
Dr. Zheng is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the New York
Association of Endodontics, the New York State Dental Association, and the American
Dental Association.
